perfect mixture of fellowship and learning for your spiritual journey.
For more information about any of the classes and studies listed below, call (505.243.5646) or email the church office.
Agape--Room 109
The name of our class, which is a Greek word for love (often used in
reference to the characteristic attitude of Christians towards each
other), tells you something about us. We usually study the Bible in
depth.
Bible Time--211
What are your favorite Bible stories? What do you like about the
Bible? What don’t you like? This class helps participants to find the things they love about the Bible through readings and discussion.
Emerging Christianity--302
The Emerging Christianity class explores the historical roots of Christianity in search of the true intent of the teachings of Jesus obscured by human tinkering through evolved religious institutions. The question inspired by Micah 6:8 that frames Emerging Christianity is: “Are the needs (spiritual and physical) of the poor, the outcast, the widows and orphans, and the aliens among us being served by current teachings and ministries?”
Family Faith--Room 303
Do you ever struggle to keep your family grounded in faith in today’s society? The Family Faith class studies finances, parenting, marriage, and other “family issues” from a Christian perspective. All families (of all shapes and all sizes) are welcome.
G.O.O.D. (Guiding Our Own Descendants)--Room 301
The G.O.O.D. Class is a Sunday morning group ministry focusing on
issues of raising children and youth in a Christian environment. Please
join us as we learn how to listen to God and how to apply the knowledge
we acquire to daily situations
Los Compadres Class--Room 305
As our name implies, we are a group of friends with a vision to live a
more Christ-centered, significant life. We are open to and welcome new
members and new ideas. Our curriculum includes Bible study, but also
tackles current issues and needs in the church, community, and world at
large. Our class participates in an ongoing quest to learn to live on a
daily basis the life that Christ would have us live. We accomplish this
by maturing in our faith and building authentic relationships through
study
and loving service. We invite you to come grow with us.
Questers Class--Room 104
Our class has a long history spanning nearly sixty years. We are a
class
of active and young-acting senior citizens who study and have
socials, all with a tremendous amount of love and friendship. We
maintain that it’s not the age of an individual that determines her/his
desire for new knowledge or ways of looking at life. We would love to
have more new members of any age. We welcome new members and encourage
anyone seeking a lively discussion to come join us.
Sanctuary Class--Friendship Room
We are Bible
students who proceed through the Bible book by book, examining every
verse along with Bible commentaries. Class is informal with lively discussions
usually led by class members. Group members volunteer to teach each
week.
Two-Som Class--Parlor
The Two-Som class invites all adults, young and old, single or married,
to join us as we study. Two-Som has a heritage of nearly sixty-five
years of sharing cares, concerns, prayers, and frequent social events.
We
choose
studies
that satisfy our desire for new knowledge and new ways of looking
at life. We would love to have more new members of any age. Come and
enjoy a rich fellowship with the Two-Som class.
30 Rock--Meets off site at 12:30pm on Sundays
The ’30 Rock’ group is made up on 20 and 30 year olds who consider themselves
to be ‘Young Professionals’ whose foundation is built on the love
and strength of God, our Rock. We strive to provide a comprehen-sive
young adult/young professional ministry program, where we can experience
and share the love of God in various ways as a community.
We meet once a month at Flying Star (8th & Silver) and begin with a meal. We then move on to curriculum/study and discussion, concluding with announcements, joys and concerns and prayer. For more informa-tion about 30 Rock, contact Kelly Brooks at 505.243.5646 x16 or chrisedu@fumconline.org
