Youth Mission Trip 2010

Youth Mission trip begins this Saturday make sure you have packed all items on the packing list. (click here)

Efficiency and organization is needed as all your clothing and gear must fit into one duffel bag or suitcase.

This is the Youth Mission Trip – Unplugged as we are asked not to bring blow dryers, curling or straightening irons due to the short shower time and many of the housing sites don’t have power to run the small electronics.

DO NOT BRING: Electronics: iPods, electronic games, or too much cash (if you ask the adult sponsors to hold onto your extra cash we will spend it, freely and happily)

As always, please don’t bring clothing that distracts, is obscene, or promotes products that are illegal for use by minors. Capri pants are highly recommended.

There are no laundry facilities, make sure you have enough changes of clothing.

Make sure you have closed foot shoes, hiking in flip flops will be challenging.

Air mattress or foam pad will be needed as well as a sleeping bag; if you forget these items the nights will be long and cold.

On Saturday please arrive by 11 am at the church to load your ONE duffel bag/suitcase and sleeping gear.

At 12 pm we head north, staying the night in Colorado Springs.

The youth ministry at First UMC seeks to provide an opportunity for youth to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ as they grow in relationship with one another.  We strive to allow our youth the opportunity to discover Jesus Christ for them to see God at work in their life and to engage in ministry and relationships with those outside the walls of the church.

As a youth ministry we seek to:

• provide high quality youth events that provide fellowship, bible study, and worship.
• work with the youth music program of First UMC to provide high quality music and ministry opportunities for youth.
• join with youth from Albuquerque as we work together to relieve suffering and hunger.
• go on mission experiences to engage in mission projects to serve in whatever way God leads us. 
• attend retreats and events that help us to join with other youth in worship and faith building. 

Sunday School - Sundays @ 9:40am

6th - 12th Grade (Room 309)

Youth Fellowship:

• Bible study, devotionals, etc.
• Games
• Snack Supper
• Worship & Music
  

(Youth choir is held on Sundays at 3:00pm in room 214.)
