News at first Here is what is happening at FUMC.
This year’s Christmas Eve schedule at First United Methodist Church features: 3:00pm, Community of Hope worship service in the Fellowship Hall 4:00pm, Christmas Eve Fellowship Hour/Reception in the Fellowship Hall 5:00pm, First United Methodist worship service in the Sanctuary Both services will include carols, end with Silent Night and candlelight, and most importantly, celebrate and welcome the Gift of Jesus Christ given to all the world.  The History Team is hosting a reception to introduce Glenn Hohnstreiter’s large format black and white photography. The exhibit will be in the Welcome Center and the Cook Foyer from now through December. Glenn is the talented photographer responsible for the panoramic photo of the sanctuary which hangs in the hall outside the Parlor. In addition, he created the official photograph for Albuquerque’s Tri-Centennial. Glenn’s work is internationally renowned and widely acclaimed.

Community of Hope worships and eats together every Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm in the Fellowship Hall (“Old Sanctuary”) of First UMC. Join us for worship, or join us in the kitchen to help serve lunch… or both! Community of Hope
Opportunities to Serve & Get Involved
Hospitality Ministry This newly created ministry area will have its inaugural gathering Sunday, January 21st, at 11:45am (after morning worship). Lunch will be provided. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Grace Meal This core ministry that has been in place for decades serving lunch every Monday to upwards of 200 people. Opportunities to volunteer abound throughout the morning, during lunch over the noon hour, and we always need some clean-up help after we shut down at 1pm. [Grace Meal will re-open on January 8th.] Studies and Small Groups Intercessory Prayer will continue, but begin earlier at 11:00am on Tuesdays (resuming January 9th). New studies will be led by John Milholland and Pastor Jon Moore, including A Disciple’s Heart and a Pastor-led study of the Book of Revelation. Stay tuned for dates, times, and additional topics. And, As Always, Sunday Morning If you’re a visitor or guest with us, you’re invited to join us on Sunday mornings. We have Sunday School for all ages at 9:15am, and worship at 10:30am. Nursery is provided throughout. And there’s always a donut and a cup of coffee waiting for you!
